How do I get L2 EAD?
L2 spouses can apply for a US work visa by applying for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) by filing Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Does L-2 visa holders need EAD?
L-2 Visa Holders – L-2 visa holders who currently hold an I-94 due to their spousal status may continue to require an EAD for work purposes until the I-94 with spousal designation is issued after reentry to the United States or similar active designation by USCIS. 2

How can L-2 visa get work permit?

EAD is only needed while one is present in the USA, one does not need it if in India.
H4 and L2 will be able to use Premium Processing, as they can file I-539 Applications for Extensions or COS. EAD Applications will also have Premium processing available. This is something beneficial for those who are applying for H4 EAD and lose their jobs.
How can I get EAD?
To request an EAD, you must file Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization. Are required to apply for permission to work; in other words, you need to request employment authorization itself. For example: You have a pending Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.
Can L-2 hold SSN without EAD?
An L2 child will need an ITIN for US tax return. An L-2 spouse will also obtain an ITIN and not receive a SSN unless the spouse has employment authorization. An L2 spouse may obtain a SSN with an Employment Authorization Document.
What is spousal EAD?
Spouses of L-1 Intracompany Transferees, who hold “L-2” status in the United States, may apply for an employment authorization document (“EAD”) from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”). Spouses must have made an entry into the United States in L-2 immigration status.

Can I work on L2 EAD receipt?
H4, L2 EAD cannot work while extension pending & card expired. L2 EAD holders whose category code is A(1)(8) cannot work either if their current work permit card has expired and renewal is pending. Similarly, (C05) J-2 spouse or minor child of a J-1 exchange visitor cannot work based on receipt for their EAD extension.
